The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abreu shoots in for a takedown but Dagens shows good takedown defense.
A combination from Dagens does no damage.
Dagens lands a really nice looking cross but Abreu seems unphased.

It looks like Ronaldo Abreu has been cut.
Dagens misses with a double jab

and Abreu counters with a takedown into side control.

Abreu tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Abreu thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Abreu is working to tighten his grip on Dagens's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Dagens has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Abreu is really squeezing tight and eventually Dagens passes out! Abreu breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
