Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Vip!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rob Ramirez!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Luis Engracia and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramirez fails with a takedown attempt.
Vip shoots and misses
and Ramirez counters with a one-two to the body.

Vip bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ground and pound from Vip seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Vip is trying to ground and pound but Ramirez uses the momentary lack of control by Vip to regain half guard.

Vip has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Vip drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ramirez looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ramirez looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ramirez!

Vip tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ramirez swivels and escapes.

Vip lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ramirez is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Vip presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Rob Ramirez was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Vip dives in and scores a takedown into Ramirez's guard.

Ramirez thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Ramirez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vip can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Vip forces his way into half guard.
Vip will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Vip thows a huge punch but Ramirez dodges it nicely.

Ramirez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Vip is working away from the top position though.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Vip closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ramirez's guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Vip arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Ramirez's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
