The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balboa throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Vasquez prevents Balboa from breaking the clinch.
Balboa wants to break free but Vasquez has control.

Balboa blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
A frustrated look appears on Balboa's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Vasquez jumps guard and drags Balboa to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Rocky Balboa hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Vasquez is trying hard to land a takedown here. Balboa sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Balboa throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Vasquez tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Balboa defends well and Vasquez ends up having to push Balboa into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Balboa lands a huge takedown. Vasquez is out but the ref is slow to react and Balboa lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Vasquez lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.
