Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kip Aragus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abaka Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Aragus might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Kill of the Night - Gin Wigmore. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kip Aragus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Abaka Khan!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Franklyn Lucas and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aragus throws a low kick, looking for Khan's leg but Khan calmly moves out of range.
A jab lands there for Aragus.
Khan drops his hands momentarily and Aragus takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Aragus avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A head kick misses from Khan.
Khan tries to clinch up but Aragus circles away and keeps his distance.
Aragus misses with a hook. Khan ducked under it nicely.
Aragus misses with an attempted mid kick.
Aragus tries a low kick but Khan avoids it.
Khan throws a sloppy head kick and Aragus moves out of range easily.
Aragus has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Aragus as Khan tries to tie him up.

We've been informed that Khan has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

With the fighters up against the cage, Aragus throws an elbow but misses.
Aragus seems to have got his legs back now.
Khan blocks an elbow strike.
Khan lands an elbow that stopped Aragus in his tracks for a moment.

Aragus is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Khan can't fight it off and eventually Aragus manages to take the fight to the floor. Khan looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Khan had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Aragus defends it easily.
Aragus postures up in Khan's guard and throws a big left but Khan blocks it.

Khan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Aragus gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Aragus wants to pass the guard but Khan is keeping the position.
Khan is trying to control the position but Aragus postures up.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Aragus is working Khan over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

That was a close round but I would say that Kip Aragus will probably get the nod.

That's time! Aragus's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Aragus is trying hard to land a takedown here. Khan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Khan digs a right hand underneath Aragus's ribcage. Aragus let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Khan drops Aragus with a big knee straight up the middle! Aragus is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Aragus looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Khan is fending him off so far but Aragus persists. Nope, Khan circles away and we're back to standing.

Aragus throws a hook but Khan avoids it easily.
Khan avoids a punch combination nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Aragus looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Khan throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Aragus lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Aragus misses with a series of wild punches.
Aragus throws a body shot but no joy.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and Khan counters with a head kick that drops Aragus to the mat! Aragus scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Abaka Khan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


A big right from Aragus misses.

Aragus fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Khan to the ground. Aragus is now in Khan's guard.
Aragus prevents Khan from getting back to his feet.
Khan utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Khan is pulling down on Aragus's head to control his posture.

Khan manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Aragus manages to get himself to full guard.

Aragus is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

A relieved looking Abaka Khan thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
