Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Malcolm Mitchell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shintaro Nomo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mitchell comes to the cage accompanied by Joe Jackson- I'm a Man. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Malcolm Mitchell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shintaro Nomo!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Ren Mimura and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mitchell listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Nomo has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Nomo avoids a punch combination nicely.
Nomo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mitchell.
A swing and a miss from Mitchell.
Nomo throws a combination that misses
letting Mitchell counter with a right hand.
Nomo throws the left hand but Mitchell avoids the punch easily.
Mitchell gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Nomo avoids the body shot from Mitchell.
Nomo takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Nomo uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mitchell.
Good exchange - Mitchell coming out on top.
Nomo uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mitchell.
A big right from Nomo misses.
Nomo slips a straight right by Mitchell.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mitchell on the wrong end of a nice hook.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mitchell swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Mitchell throws out a loose jab but Nomo uses good head movement to avoid it.
A head kick misses from Mitchell.
Mitchell bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Nomo takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Mitchell throws a head kick that Nomo semi-blocks.
Mitchell turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Nomo looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Mitchell wants to sweep here but Nomo controlling him for the moment.
Mitchell wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nomo throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Nomo is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Nomo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Nomo trying to control but Mitchell is working from the bottom.
Nomo missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Mitchell is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mitchell swinging wildly here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mitchell takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
A punch combination from Mitchell misses.
Nomo slips a jab and a cross from Mitchell.

Nomo gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Mitchell wants to control from the top but Nomo keeps moving.

Nomo has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Mitchell should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Nomo has tightened it up now! Mitchell should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Shintaro Nomo!
Shintaro Nomo thanked the fans post fight for their support.
Malcolm Mitchell spoke after the fight, saying 'This is really messed up, my gameplanner is garbage. I am still the greatest 170 pounder around and I'm gonna prove it soon.'.
