The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cavalcanti fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Torres sprawls well initially but Cavalcanti persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Cavalcanti escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Torres gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Cavalcanti has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Torres is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Cavalcanti.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cavalcanti has hold of Torres's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Torres tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Cavalcanti cranks the arm and Torres screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Torres, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
