Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between William Blake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kendall Cross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blake kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Dead Man. William Blake could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Kendall Cross's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blake uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Cross.
A telegraphed right hand from Cross misses the target.
Cross misses with a looping right.
Cross shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Blake eats them both and turns towards Cross to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Cross looks to score with a jab to the body but Blake is just out of range.
Cross throws a right and a left that both miss.
Blake misses with a wild body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Blake displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cross throws out the jab.

Kendall Cross seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Blake throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Cross rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Blake counters with a shoot takedown. Cross fights it but they end up in guard.
Cross wants to stand up but Blake is controlling him.
Blake trying to control but Cross is working from the bottom.
Blake slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Cross wants to sweep but no luck.
Cross is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Blake stands and throws Cross's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Blake thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cross can do anything to dispel that myth.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Blake prevents Cross from escaping the position.

Blake looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Cross is pushing Blake's head away, looking to escape. Blake manages to hold on to the position though.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
You can see the frustration on Cross's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Cross really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Blake. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Blake has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Blake is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cross knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Blake fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cross avoids it really well and circles away.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cross lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Blake avoids a punch combination nicely.
Cross throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Blake.

Blake has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Cross doesn't defend quickly enough and Blake has managed to lock this one up! Can Cross escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Blake on a fantastic submission victory.
