The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rutherford throws a nice looking combination but Qabbani bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Rutherford scores with a crisp jab that stopped Qabbani in his tracks.

Qabbani throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Qabbani buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
A nice inside leg kick there by Qabbani. That's going to slow Rutherford down.
Qabbani bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Qabbani uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Rutherford.

and Rutherford cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Rutherford on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Davey Rutherford seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rutherford throws a jab but it's blocked by Qabbani.
Rutherford throws a hook but Qabbani avoids it easily.

Qabbani lands a big head kick that sends Rutherford tumbling to the mat! Qabbani takes a step backwards and waves Rutherford back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Rutherford lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

and Qabbani counters with a good low kick that Rutherford was not able to check.
