Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Duke Dog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Duke Dog has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Duke Dog seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dog lands a head kick. Smith smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

It looks like John Smith has been cut.
Dog throws a right and a left that Smith avoids nicely.
Dog moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Oooh a lovely combination from Dog sends Smith down but not out. Dog dives into side control looking to finish.

Smith is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dog tries to stand but Smith is controlling his head.
Smith gets back to half guard.
Smith wants to improve his position but Dog is controlling well.
Smith gets back to full guard.
Smith has his hands on Dog's head, controlling the position.
Smith lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Smith advances to half guard.
Dog knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground.
Dog looks like he's trying to stand up.
Smith working the head and body with strikes.
Smith landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Smith working over Dog with some ground and pound. Dog looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Smith tries to pass to full mount but Dog defends it.

Dog is looking for a sweep. Smith is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Smith wants to take a breather but Dog is having none of it.
Smith takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dog tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Smith manages to move to mount!
Smith fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Dog is bucking up trying to escape but Smith cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Smith can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Dog is looking to escape.

Smith lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Smith blocks Dog's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.

Smith postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Dog looks a forlorn figure.
Dog tries to hold on but Smith pushes him away.
Smith sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Dog is squirming around, avoiding Smith's attempts to control the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dog is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Smith has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Dog's face.
Dog is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Smith breaks from Dog's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Smith has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Dog's face.

Smith has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Smith unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Dog wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Smith celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

John Smith decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
