Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Philip Serrano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vahid Imanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vahid Imanov will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Philip Serrano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vahid Imanov!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Konstantin Menshow and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Serrano slaps away a takedown attempt from Imanov, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Imanov looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Serrano.
Imanov trying to remain calm as Serrano controls from the top position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Imanov can do anything to dispel that myth.
Serrano seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Imanov for as long as he can get away with.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Serrano tries for a kimura but Imanov is defending well.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

and Serrano counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Philip Serrano has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vahid Imanov.

Serrano wants to stand up but Imanov is controlling the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Serrano misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Serrano connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Imanov some visible discomfort.
Imanov looks to move to half guard but instead Serrano has passed into mount! Damn!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Serrano's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Nice takedown defense from Imanov. No joy for Serrano on that attempt.

Imanov looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Imanov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Serrano tries to avoid it but Imanov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Serrano to the ground. Serrano escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Serrano escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Serrano scores with a one two! Imanov had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Serrano lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Imanov feints and as Serrano raises his hands in defense, Imanov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Serrano has momentary wrist control but Imanov slips an elbow through the middle.
Serrano might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Serrano working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Imanov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Serrano is tightening it up a little... Imanov has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Imanov reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Imanov taps out! Nice BJJ there by Serrano!
