PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sani Hassan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Black's choice of entrance music: Not Afraid - Eminen. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Black!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Black looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Black stops Hassan from getting back to his feet.
Black wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hassan keeps working.
Hassan is controlling Black's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Hassan is looking to improve his position.
Hassan is trying to stand back up but Black is controlling him
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hassan definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Hassan on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hassan tries to get out of the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Black has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Hassan gets caught flat footed, as Black shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Black looking to sit in guard and control but Hassan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Hassan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Black stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hassan swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hassan seems keen to control Black's posture.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Black manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hassan on his heels. He'll look to pass Hassan's guard now, I'm sure.
Hassan wants to stand and escape but Black is having none of it.

Black drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hassan looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hassan looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hassan!

Black is looking to regain half guard here but Hassan keeps moving and retains side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Hassan wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Black, who protects the arm well.
Black tries to bench press Hassan off him but Hassan keeps the position.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Black shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Hassan wants to get back to his feet.
Hassan is concentrating on defense, preventing Black from advancing position.
Hassan is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Black's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Black's back!

Black is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Hassan gets his way!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hassan doesn't have the hooks in and Black manages to turn into his guard.
Hassan pulls Black in close to prevent any damage.

Hassan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Black gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Black is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hassan knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Black is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hassan defends it well.

Black shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hassan is trying to defend but Black finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Black drives through with a takedown into Hassan's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Black wants to pass the guard but Hassan is keeping the position.
Hassan is trying to keep Black in close.
Black is looking to advance position but Hassan has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Black tries to lock up and control but Hassan gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Hassan stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Black bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Hassan bucks up and tries to throw Black off but instead Black has got his back!

Hassan is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet.

Black shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Black showed some decent athleticism there.
Hassan is trying to control but Black passes into side control!

Black is looking to take a break and control but Hassan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hassan manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Hassan is trying to stand.

Black is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hassan is just riding it out for now. Black eventually gives up the hold.

Matt Black comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Black has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
