The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jacobson tries to clinch up.
Jacobson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Abel manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jacobson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Abel can pounce on him.

Abel feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Jacobson really is a fat lump.

Abel has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jacobson uses from the top position.
Abel wants to sweep here but Jacobson controlling him for the moment.

Abel escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jacobson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Abel is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jacobson is controlling him.

Jacobson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Abel's head.
