Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Brewer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Javier Alvarez!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brewer shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Alvarez's guard.
Brewer sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brewer throws a big right hand that misses.
Alvarez is trying to keep Brewer in close.

Brewer sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Alvarez's guard.

Brewer tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Alvarez defends well and Brewer ends up having to push Alvarez into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Brewer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
