Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Simon Browne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ron Burgundy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Browne might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Bloodsport for all !!. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Simon Browne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ron Burgundy!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Albert Achterberg and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burgundy sizes up Browne with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Browne tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Burgundy defends well and Browne ends up having to push Burgundy into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Burgundy stalls.
Browne wants a takedown but no success here.
Browne drops down looking for an ankle pick but Burgundy pulls his leg out and moves away.

Browne shoots in but Burgundy avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Burgundy swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Browne is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Burgundy's half guard.

Burgundy felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Browne fails with a takedown attempt.
Burgundy stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Burgundy wants it to stay on the feet.

Browne goes for a double leg but Burgundy avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Burgundy continues to drive forward.

Burgundy can't keep his opponent in guard - Browne advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Burgundy has hold of Browne's hands but Browne slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Burgundy is trying to stand back up but Browne is controlling him

Browne looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Browne is just content to waste time from the top position. Burgundy takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Browne pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Burgundy is keeping the position for now.
Burgundy looking for a sweep. Not yet Burgundy, not yet.

Browne tries to free his leg and advance position but Burgundy is retaining full guard.
Burgundy keeping moving, preventing Browne from controlling successfully.
Browne loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Browne stands and throws Burgundy's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Burgundy is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Browne has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Browne wants to pass to mount but Burgundy is defending the position.

Browne shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Burgundy as he jumps to the side.

Browne moves forwards but Burgundy connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Ron Burgundy seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Burgundy throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Browne changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Burgundy fights it off and pushes away nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Simon Browne will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!

Ron Burgundy gave a mention to Soul Supremacy Fight Gear in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
