The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith looks for the body kick but Hoffman saw that one coming.
Smith turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Hoffman shoots in looking for a takedown but Smith manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hoffman's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Smith lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Hoffman avoids the head kick by Smith.
Chris Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hoffman tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Smith manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Smith slips a jab and a cross from Hoffman.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Hoffman.
Hoffman walks into a left hand.

It looks like Jefferey Hoffman has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hoffman stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Smith.
Smith connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Hoffman is rocked!
Smith lands an uppercut, right on the button! Hoffman tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.
