Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ronnie Du!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Quincey Ferguson!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Taro Takaoka and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Du shoots for a takedown but Ferguson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Du throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ferguson's waist but Ferguson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Du off to one side.
Du wants to clinch
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Du fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ronnie Du. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ferguson throws a quick inside leg kick.
Du moves out of range of the body kick from Ferguson.
Du has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Ferguson.
An inside leg kick from Ferguson misses.
Ferguson feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Du's calf.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ferguson throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Du.
Du closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ferguson circles away.

Du on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Ferguson lets loose with a powerful body kick. Du will feel that in the morning.
Du throws a body punch but Ferguson moves out of range.
Ferguson lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Both fighters circling a little - Ferguson finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

The fighters circle, before Ferguson throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Du's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Ferguson lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
