The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Veretovski tries to score a power double leg takedown but Boggs sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Veretovski somewhat.
Boggs looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Veretovski stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Veretovski fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Veretovski closes the distance and clinches up with Boggs, looking for a takedown. Veretovski pushes Boggs against the cage but Boggs circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Tyson Boggs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Masuk Veretovski.
Veretovski shoots for a takedown but Boggs saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Veretovski is looking to clinch but Boggs is avoiding it.

and Boggs counters with a takedown into side control.
Boggs wants to control but Veretovski is keeping him busy.
Veretovski manages to work his way to half guard, despite Boggs's best efforts.

Veretovski is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Boggs's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Boggs's back!

Veretovski has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Boggs! Can he survive? No! He's out! Veretovski gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
