Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Roy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Why Not (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jonathan Roy has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jonathan Roy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Why Not!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Not avoids a punch combination nicely.

Roy takes the fight into the clinch.

Roy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Roy is looking to clinch but Not is avoiding it.
Not stuffs the takedown.

Roy is pressed up against the cage. Not has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Roy down to the mat. Roy avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Roy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Roy wants to control but Not is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Roy on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Roy tries to get out of the position.
Not is trying to control. Roy wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Roy tries to clinch but Not is having none of it.
Roy slips a jab and a cross from Not.
Not throws a series of punches but Roy avoids them all with ease.
Roy looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Roy lands an elbow inside that Not shrugs off.
Not fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Roy jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Not walks away with a smile on his face. Roy gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Roy moves into range and clinches up with Not.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Why Not has got the better of the ground game so far.

Not drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Not jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Not pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Roy is keeping the position for now.

Not drops back looking for a leg! Roy is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Roy manages to kick Not off! Not jumps back into Roy's guard.
Not is breathing heavily.
Not wants to control from the top but Roy keeps moving.

Not is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Not wants to pass the guard but Roy is keeping the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Not passes Roy's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Not has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Roy defend it? Not steps over the head and cranks it - Roy is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Not!
