Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Akiro Sata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keiji Kawada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sata comes to the cage accompanied by Onward to Victory!. Keiji Kawada has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Akiro Sata!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Keiji Kawada!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Paulsen Ambrosius and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sata looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Sata with a nice cross.
Kawada is looking to clinch.
Kawada fails with the takedown

and Sata counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Kawada looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sata is one step ahead there.
Sata postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kawada looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Sata trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kawada is looking for a triangle but Sata pushes his legs off easily.
Sata controls from within his opponent's guard.
Sata trying to control the position from guard on top but Kawada is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Sata is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Sata is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Sata is in close to Kawada's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Sata distracts Kawada with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Sata lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Sata controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Kawada wants to hit a switch here but Sata passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Kawada there!
Sata lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Sata has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kawada's face.
Kawada is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Sata tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kawada throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Sata wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.

Sata cracks Kawada with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Kawada keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Sata looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Sata is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Kawada to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kawada shrugs it off.
Kawada takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Sata has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kawada's face.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sata can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kawada is looking to escape.

Good exchange - Sata coming out on top.
Kawada shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sata as he avoids it easily.

Sata closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kawada quickly recovers to half guard.
Kawada wants to sweep but Sata has passed to side control!
Sata is looking to take a break and control but Kawada is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kawada is looking to regain half guard here but Sata keeps moving and retains side control.

Sata tries for a kimura but Kawada is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sata lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Kawada down.
Kawada is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Sata off and has taken his back!

Sata breaks Kawada's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Sata stands up over Kawada, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Sata loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Kawada wants to sweep here but Sata controlling him for the moment.
Sata lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Sata has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Kawada to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Sata is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Kawada pulls down on the head and he's put Sata to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Keiji Kawada!
After the fight, Keiji Kawada was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
