Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lucca swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Royal counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Royal doesn't manage to clinch there - Lucca circles away.
Lucca avoids the head kick by Royal.
Lucca is looking to land body kicks.
Royal tries to clinch up.

Lucca pushes Royal up against the cage in a clinch.
Royal wants to stall.
Royal wants to break free but Lucca has control.
Royal tries to circle away but Lucca has him pinned against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lucca's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Royal tries to clinch there but Lucca circles away.
Royal avoids a punch combination nicely.
Royal closes the distance and clinches up with Lucca, looking for a takedown. Royal pushes Lucca against the cage but Lucca circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

A head kick misses from Royal.

Lucca closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Royal did well to prevent Lucca getting side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Royal really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Royal is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Lucca jumps into side control!

Lucca stands up and beckons Royal to his feet.
Lucca uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Royal.

Lucca instigates a clinch.

Lucca wants the takedown. Royal is fighting it off but Lucca persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Royal's guard against the cage.
Lucca is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Lucca's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Lucca loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Lucca's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Lucca postures up in Royal's guard and throws a big left but Royal blocks it.
Royal tries to strike from the bottom.
Lucca slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Lucca uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Royal.
The fight stays on the outside here - Royal looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Royal is breathing heavily.
