Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Igor Wietrzny (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Janek Smok (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Wietrzny might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Hunter-Fallen. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Igor Wietrzny!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Janek Smok!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Skip Squint and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smok shoots and misses

so Wietrzny counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Smok is trying to control the position but Wietrzny postures up.

Smok is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Wietrzny has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Smok lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Wietrzny might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Wietrzny is looking for a sweep.
Smok lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Wietrzny down.
Smok is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Wietrzny will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Smok is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Check out the look on Smok's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Smok pulls Wietrzny in close to prevent any damage.
Smok keeping moving, preventing Wietrzny from controlling successfully.

Smok is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Wietrzny defends well.

Wietrzny is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Smok cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Smok fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
The referee warns Wietrzny that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Smok connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Wietrzny wants to hold on but Smok pushes him away.

Smok is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Smok wants to pass to mount but Wietrzny is defending the position.
Smok wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wietrzny keeps working.

Janek Smok showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Wietrzny lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Smok shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wietrzny as he jumps to the side.
Wietrzny uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

and Wietrzny counters with a nice double leg into side control. Smok won't be happy with that.

Wietrzny is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Smok is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Smok tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Wietrzny wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Wietrzny tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Wietrzny has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The ground and pound from Wietrzny seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Smok is looking to regain half guard here but Wietrzny keeps moving and retains side control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Wietrzny is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Smok defends it well.

Our spies down at at Great Bash Heel inform us that Smok has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Smok bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wietrzny's guard.

Smok is working Wietrzny over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
