Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jason Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keith Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Keith Hunt has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Stevens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Keith Hunt!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Donatello Bradman and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevens shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hunt pinned against the cage. Hunt gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Stevens closes the distance and clinches.

Stevens escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Stevens throws a half hearted mid kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hunt.

Stevens closes the distance and clinches.
Hunt jumps guard but Stevens stands there with Hunt around his waist. Hunt gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Stevens decides to pull guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stevens is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Stevens has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Hunt is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Stevens.
You can see the frustration on Stevens's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Stevens really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Stevens is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Hunt off and has taken his back!

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Stevens's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Hunt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stevens. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Stevens throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Stevens tries to keep control of the position but Hunt is staying busy.

Stevens is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Hunt knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Hunt for a finish.
Stevens will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Stevens looking to break Hunt's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Hunt remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Stevens will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Hunt drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Hunt must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Stevens looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stevens not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Stevens keeping moving, preventing Hunt from controlling successfully.

Hunt would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Stevens has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hunt can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Stevens looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hunt throws a shot to the body.
Stevens shoots in looking for a takedown. Hunt tries to sprawl out of it but Stevens keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hunt manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Stevens tries to clinch but Hunt moves out of range.
Stevens misses with a takedown attempt - Hunt sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jason Stevens. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Stevens shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hunt as he jumps to the side.
Hunt tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stevens paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hunt moves in looking to clinch but Stevens pushes him off.
Hunt displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Stevens.

Hunt avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hunt tries to score a power double leg takedown but Stevens sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hunt somewhat.
Stevens tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hunt swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hunt changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Stevens tries to avoid it but Hunt manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Stevens to the ground. Stevens escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Stevens throws a head kick but Hunt moves out of range.
Stevens walks into a stiff left hand from Hunt.

Oh Stevens is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Stevens seems to have got his legs back now.
Stevens blocks a head kick by Hunt.
Stevens shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hunt sprawls well. Hunt wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Stevens gets slowly back to his feet.

Hunt leaves Stevens with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Keith Hunt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Stevens doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Stevens leaves Hunt with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Stevens darts in looking for a takedown but Hunt gets double underhooks and turns Stevens into the cage.
Hunt is trying to drag Stevens to the mat but Stevens just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stevens looking for a guillotine here but Hunt defends easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hunt stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stevens swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hunt gets to his feet - Stevens follows without any prompting.
Stevens wants to land a leg kick but Hunt is out of range.
Stevens throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hunt's waist but Hunt gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stevens off to one side.
Hunt misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Jason Stevens has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Keith Hunt.

Stevens has Hunt pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hunt manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Hunt has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Stevens after a bit of a struggle.

I think Stevens has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
