Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tural Agaev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Peter James!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Jeff Smith and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Agaev lands a nice leg kick that just misses James's sensitive parts.
A good leg kick by Agaev.
James throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Agaev sees it coming and avoids it easily.
James throws a lazy uppercut
and Agaev counters with a leg kick.
James scores with a jab.
James throws a jab but it's blocked by Agaev.
A telegraphed right hand from James misses the target.
James has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
James gets cracked there but stands up to it.
James misses with the combination.
James takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
The fighters circling - Agaev throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
James swings widly with a right hand
and Agaev counters with a nice kick to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Agaev lands with a thumping leg kick.
James tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Agaev was well out of range. Poor timing from James.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! James crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Agaev - the referee stops the clock and James gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Agaev. James manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
James looks winded!
Agaev scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Agaev moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Agaev feints and then cracks James's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow James down.
Agaev looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! James crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Agaev - the referee stops the clock and James gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Agaev. James manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

A nice leg kick lands there from Agaev.
James is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Agaev.
Agaev scores with a jab. James acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Agaev throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
James ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Agaev moves away.

Agaev cracks James with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Agaev has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning James to stand back up!


James is rocked!


It looks like Peter James has been cut.
Peter James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
James misses with a right hand
and Agaev counters with an inside leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Agaev lets loose with a powerful body kick. James will feel that in the morning.
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Agaev engages and cracks James with a massive lead left hook - James tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Agaev is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tural Agaev!
Tural Agaev decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
