PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ray Finkle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Fleming (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tired and clearly flustered, he entered the arena late and after a little discussion it was decided that the bout should take place.
Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ray Finkle and Scott Fleming. Fleming has chosen T.N.T. as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 1, fighting out of New York, Ray Finkle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Scott Fleming!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fleming moves into the clinch.
Nice elbow from Fleming.
Finkle prevents a body shot from Fleming.
A shot in the inside from Finkle.
Fleming looking for a takedown.
Fleming scores with a shot to the side of Finkle's head.
Fleming tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Fleming lands a nice uppercut.
Fleming lands with a short shot to the head.

Fleming has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Finkle regains guard immediately.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Finkle is on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fleming is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Fleming is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Finkle is controlling him.
Fleming bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Finkle's guard.

Finkle pulls Fleming in close to his closed guard and prevents Fleming from doing any damage or advancing position.
Fleming throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Finkle works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Fleming content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Fleming has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Fleming looking to sit in guard and control but Finkle gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Fleming looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Fleming wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Fleming not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Finkle got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fleming has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Finkle has managed to get both his arms back between Fleming's legs - danger averted.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Fleming stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Finkle.
Fleming cracks Finkle with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Fleming tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Finkle manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Finkle looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Fleming just misses with a punch to the body.
Fleming is looking to clinch but Finkle is avoiding it.
Finkle cracks Fleming with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Scott Fleming is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Ray Finkle is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Finkle tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fleming swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Fleming comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Finkle connects with a nice looking jab.
Finkle misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Finkle scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Finkle thuds a left hand into Fleming's body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That has opened up Scott Fleming's cut even more.
Finkle has Fleming pressed against the cage. He pushes Fleming back and as he springs towards him off the cage, Finkle throws a beautiful elbow that sends Fleming crashing to the floor! Finkle piles on the pressure with more strikes! Fleming is flailing away but he's not defending himself and the referee steps in to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ray Finkle!
