PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Speed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis comes to the cage accompanied by Sober by Tool. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Speed swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Davis.

It looks like Jason Davis has been cut.
Davis takes a jab right on the kisser.
Speed has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Speed finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Davis misses the jab.
Davis swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Speed counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Davis is defended easily by Speed.
Speed moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Davis moves out of range of the strikes.
Davis has been working on his balance at Soul Supremacy - UK, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Speed.

and Speed cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Davis looks to land a right hand but Speed moved out of range.
Speed missing with a left hand there. Davis was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

The fighters circle momentarily. Davis darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Speed jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Nice defenses there by Davis.

Speed lands with a hook. Davis tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Speed's corner calls for a 1-2. Speed obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Speed might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Speed misses with a wild body shot.
Davis shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Speed pinned against the cage. Speed gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Davis looks to land a right hand but Speed moved out of range.

Speed scores with a jab to the head.
Speed misses with a series of wild punches.
Speed throws a low kick but it's checked well by Davis.
Davis moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Speed walks into a left hand.
Speed keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Davis.
Davis defending well as Speed loads up on a big left hand.
Davis ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Speed moves away.
Nice body punch from Speed.
A swing and a miss from Davis.
Davis drops his hands momentarily and Speed takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Speed is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Davis had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Speed connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Jason Davis's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Davis jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Speed dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Davis misses with an uppercut. Speed saw that one coming.
Davis swings widly with a right hand
and Speed counters with a straight right hand.
Speed scores with a kick to the midsection.
Speed with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Speed feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Davis sprawling to the canvas! Davis rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Speed finish him?!

Davis is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Davis seems to have got his legs back now.
Davis is breathing heavily.
Speed lands a slapping body shot.
Speed ducks down and throws a big overhand right - it lands flush on the jaw, knocking Davis out cold! The fight is over!
