The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nazarov defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Pulu.
Nazarov lands a head kick. Pulu smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Pulu throws a combination that misses
and Nazarov counters with a big head kick but Pulu shrugs it off.
Nice sprawl there from Nazarov as Pulu shoots in.
Pulu misses with a combination
and Nazarov counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Pulu is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Pulu definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Maki Pulu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nazarov shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Pulu manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Pulu is looking to cinch up a triangle. Nazarov throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Pulu's body to avoid the submission. Pulu has instead reached around Nazarov's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Pulu arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Maki Pulu!
