Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Akihiko Yamato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joseph Amadi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Amadi has chosen Tupac - Out On Bail as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Akihiko Yamato!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joseph Amadi!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Glass and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Amadi misses with a hook
and Yamato counters with a good low kick that Amadi was not able to check.
We've been informed that Amadi has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Yamato tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Amadi manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

I was talking to Yamato's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Joseph Amadi will probably get the nod.

Yamato moves in looking to clinch but Amadi pushes him off.

It looks like Akihiko Yamato has been cut.
Yamato takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Amadi tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Yamato was well out of range. Poor timing from Amadi.
Amadi swats away the attempt to clinch by Yamato.
Amadi scores with a punch to the head.
Amadi throws a hook to the side of Yamato's head but Yamato sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Amadi rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Yamato counters with a head kick. That will keep Amadi thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Yamato is looking to clinch but Amadi is avoiding it.
Joseph Amadi seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Yamato avoids the body shot from Amadi.

and Amadi counters with a straight right hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Amadi counters with a nice uppercut that drops Yamato onto his backside! Yamato bounces straight back to his feet before we have a chance to even start the count. He'll get the standing 8 count anyway before we get back underway.

Yamato is rocked!
Yamato tries to get into range but Amadi steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Yamato! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Amadi scores the big KO victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Joseph Amadi!
