Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Barry Griffith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuki Kenjii (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Barry Griffith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Yuki Kenjii!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffith shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Griffith looks for a takedown but Kenjii sprawls well.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Barry Griffith. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Griffith tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kenjii defends well and Griffith ends up having to push Kenjii into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Griffith tries to work over Kenjii's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Kenjii takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kenjii is fighting off a takedown attempt but Griffith is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Kenjii to the mat. Kenjii regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Kenjii wants to improve his position but instead Griffith has moved into half guard.
Kenjii has his hands clasped together around Griffith's back. He's all about the action.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Griffith wants to take a breather but Kenjii is having none of it.
Kenjii is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Kenjii is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Griffith decides to stand and escape the position.
Barry Griffith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kenjii throws a right and a left that Griffith avoids nicely.
Griffith shoots for a takedown but Kenjii saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kenjii throws out a loose jab but Griffith uses good head movement to avoid it.
Griffith shoots in and drives through. Kenjii sprawls well.
Griffith shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kenjii as he avoids it easily.
Griffith misses with a takedown attempt - Kenjii sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kenjii stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kenjii wants it to stay on the feet.
Griffith fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kenjii avoids it really well and circles away.
Griffith could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Kenjii looks to land a left hand but Griffith moved out of range nicely.
Good standup being displayed there by Kenjii as he connects with a hook.


It looks like Barry Griffith has been cut.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kenjii misses with a lunging right hand
and Griffith counters with a slapping leg kick.
Griffith shoots in but no luck this time.
No luck for Griffith with that takedown attempt.
A slow jab from Kenjii misses its intended target.
Griffith shoots for a double leg takedown but Kenjii sprawls well. He's pushed Griffith's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
A looping hook to the body misses from Kenjii. Griffith does a little dance to reset his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yuki Kenjii dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Barry Griffith's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Griffith shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kenjii as he jumps to the side.
Griffith looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kenjii is fending him off so far but Griffith persists. Nope, Kenjii circles away and we're back to standing.
Griffith fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Barry Griffith. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Griffith takes a shot to the body in his stride.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kenjii drops Griffith with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Griffith looks back up at him and smiles so Kenjii waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Griffith is rocked!
Kenjii lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Griffith up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Kenjii from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Griffith's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Yuki Kenjii!
