PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fritz Haarmann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Jong Un (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Haarmann comes to the cage accompanied by Macabre - Fritz Haarmann The Butcher . Jong Un is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by DPRKorean National Anthem. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Fritz Haarmann!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kim Jong Un!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Aafke Stam and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jong Un wants to clinch

so Haarmann counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Jong Un is trying to control the position but Haarmann postures up.
Our spies down at at Pahuyuth Muay Thai 12 elite coaches inform us that Jong Un has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Jong Un can't keep his opponent in guard - Haarmann advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Jong Un is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Haarmann is working for a submission of some sort.
Haarmann will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Haarmann wants to work for an arm triangle but Jong Un is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Haarmann wants to free his trapped foot but Jong Un is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Haarmann seems to be looking for submissions.

Haarmann is looking for a kimura but Jong Un is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Haarmann to get the leverage.
Jong Un is trying to control but can't.
Jong Un is pressing down on Haarmann's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Haarmann's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Haarmann keeps the fight on the outside.

Jong Un wants to sweep but no luck.

Jong Un has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Haarmann finds it's way round the side to connect with Jong Un's head.
Kim Jong Un seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Haarmann is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jong Un can do to turn this around?

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Haarmann tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Haarmann has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Haarmann is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jong Un sees it coming and defends easily.
Jong Un is looking for a sweep. Haarmann is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Haarmann is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Jong Un stops Haarmann from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Jong Un tries to clinch up but Haarmann circles away and keeps his distance.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jong Un enables Haarmann to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jong Un manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Jong Un can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Haarmann controls the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Haarmann is working to tighten his grip on Jong Un's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Jong Un has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Haarmann is really squeezing tight and eventually Jong Un passes out! Haarmann breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Fritz Haarmann!
Fritz Haarmann was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
