PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Radulescu Andrei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Macario Sakay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sakay comes into a darkened arena with his song building. alab ng puso by rivermaya kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Radulescu Andrei!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Macario Sakay!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sakay has one foot on Andrei's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Andrei feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Andrei is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sakay is aware though and is defending well.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Sakay working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Sakay gets to his feet - Andrei follows without any prompting.

Andrei drives through with a takedown into Sakay's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Andrei bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Sakay pushes Andrei away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Andrei gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Andrei breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Sakay tries to keep at a distance but Andrei has taken the fight into the clinch.

Sakay jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Andrei walks away with a smile on his face. Sakay gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Andrei turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Andrei manages to end up in side control.

I would just about give that final round to Macario Sakay.
