Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Juan Gabaldon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abe Cain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abe Cain is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Juan Gabaldon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Abe Cain!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cain tries to clinch up

and Gabaldon counters with a single leg into guard. Cain didn't expect that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cain wants to stand and escape but Gabaldon is having none of it.
Gabaldon slips nicely into half guard.
Gabaldon wants to free his trapped foot but Cain is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Gabaldon lands strikes from half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cain is in trouble now - Gabaldon has advanced to mount!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Gabaldon cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Gabaldon tries to control but Cain wriggling away.

Gabaldon lands a heavy elbow.
Gabaldon controlling the position easily from mount.
Gabaldon landing strikes, looking to finish!
Gabaldon has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Cain's face.

Cain is rocked!

Gabaldon swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Cain is now in Gabaldon's guard. A big mistake from Gabaldon there, giving up the dominant position!
Cain is still in real trouble! Can Gabaldon finish him?
Cain throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gabaldon works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Cain seems to have recovered his senses.

Cain wants to control from the top but Gabaldon keeps moving.
Cain stays in close to Gabaldon's body and controls the position.
Gabaldon is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cain is controlling him.

Gabaldon uses the cage to get back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Some bone on bone action there as Gabaldon checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Gabaldon keeps the fight on the outside.
Cain has a takedown stuffed.
Gabaldon has a takedown stuffed.
Cain scores with a push kick.
Cain darts in trying to clinch

and Gabaldon counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Gabaldon is looking to take a break and control but Cain is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Gabaldon throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cain is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Gabaldon lands a nice short elbow.
Cain wants to improve his position but Gabaldon is controlling well.
Gabaldon is trying to control. Cain wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Gabaldon trying to mount his opponent but Cain defends it.
Gabaldon thows a huge punch but Cain dodges it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Juan Gabaldon dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Gabaldon blocks the body kick.
Cain fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Cain misses with an attempted mid kick.
Cain shoots for a double leg takedown but Gabaldon sprawls well. He's pushed Cain's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Gabaldon tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Cain defends well and Gabaldon ends up having to push Cain into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Gabaldon has Cain pressed against the cage, preventing Cain from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Cain pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Cain fails with an attempt to clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gabaldon.
Abe Cain is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cain is looking to land body kicks.

Gabaldon closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Gabaldon is looking for a kimura but Cain is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gabaldon to get the leverage.

Gabaldon seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Gabaldon is trying to control the action in half guard but Cain is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gabaldon is trying to control. Cain wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Gabaldon is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Cain can do to turn this around?

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gabaldon advances to half guard.
Gabaldon trying to mount his opponent but Cain defends it.

Gabaldon is trying to work for a kimura but Cain is defending well.
Gabaldon works his foot free and advances to mount.
Cain is desperately trying to improve his position but Gabaldon has a good base and remains in mount.

Gabaldon looking to control but Cain is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Gabaldon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Cain is wriggling around trying to escape.

Juan Gabaldon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Gabaldon pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Gabaldon fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Cain tries to clinch up but Gabaldon circles away and keeps his distance.

Gabaldon throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Cain tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gabaldon is in Cain's guard.
Gabaldon wants to pass the guard but Cain is keeping the position.

Gabaldon is trying to control the action in half guard but Cain is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Cain is bucking up trying to escape but Gabaldon cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
The referee warns Cain that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Gabaldon unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Cain wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Gabaldon celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Juan Gabaldon!
Juan Gabaldon made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'Thank you guys, I'm more capable on what I have performed tonight. Is that a fight of the night?'.
