The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mazloum bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Mazloum misses with a kick to the body.
Genia fails to land the takedown.
Mazloum dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Mazloum lunges at Genia with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Genia's hand.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Genia might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

Mazloum throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Genia on the side of the head.
Genia shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mazloum as he avoids it easily.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Genia. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Mazloum takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Genia looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Genia backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Mazloum's temple! It sends Mazloum violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Genia celebrates and the doctors try to help Mazloum!
