PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Obi Kinobi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Connolly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Connolly misses with a looping right.
Connolly tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kinobi manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Connolly shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kinobi's guard.
Connolly wants to control from the top but Kinobi keeps moving.

Connolly avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Kinobi has his foot on Connolly 's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Connolly works his way back into a safe position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Connolly got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kinobi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Connolly has managed to get both his arms back between Kinobi's legs - danger averted.
Kinobi is pulling down on Connolly 's head. It's preventing any offense from Connolly , at least for the moment.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Connolly has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Kinobi to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Connolly is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Kinobi pulls down on the head and he's put Connolly to sleep! This one is all over!
