Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Jordan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Clason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Aaron Jordan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Clason!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Mauricio Rocha and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clason connects with a body shot.
Aaron Jordan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jordan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Clason's waist but Clason gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jordan off to one side.
Clason scores with a shot to the body.
Jordan looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jordan takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Jordan feints and as Clason raises his hands in defense, Jordan changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Clason looking for a sweep. Not yet Clason, not yet.
Jordan sitting in guard here, content to control.
Jordan working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Clason's head.
Jordan controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Jordan missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Jordan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jordan postures up in Clason's guard and throws a big left but Clason blocks it.
Clason looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jordan is one step ahead there.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Clason lands a head shot.
John Clason is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jordan fails with an attempt to clinch.
Clason throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Jordan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Clason looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Clason can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Clason tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jordan wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Jordan stands up and beckons Clason to his feet.
Jordan throws a push kick but Clason slaps the foot to one side.
Clason throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Clason slaps away a takedown attempt from Jordan, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aaron Jordan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jordan is looking to clinch but Clason is avoiding it.
Jordan tries to land a leg kick but Clason saw it coming and moves away.
Clason lands with a cross.
No luck for Jordan with that takedown attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Clason digs a good body shot into Jordan's ribs.
Nice takedown defense from Clason. No joy for Jordan on that attempt.
Clason dips to his left and cracks Jordan with an uppercut!
Clason bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Jordan's head.
Jordan moves in looking to clinch but Clason pushes him off.
Clason scores with a body shot.
Clason looks to land a combination. Jordan sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Clason paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Jordan fails with a takedown attempt.
Clason looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Clason scores with a hook to the body. Jordan takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Clason avoids the head kick by Jordan.
Jordan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Clason throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.


Jordan is rocked!
Clason connects with a nice cross there... Jordan is looking wobbly and Clason recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Jordan to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Clason jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). John Clason!
John Clason decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
