PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Damien Redman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pera Vikic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pera Vikic told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Damien Redman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pera Vikic!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Vladimir Khabensky and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Redman tries to close the distance and clinch but Vikic swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Vikic looks for a takedown but Redman sprawls well.
Redman misses with a looping left.
Redman is looking to clinch but Vikic is avoiding it.
Redman lands with a straight right. Vikic didn't see that one coming.

Vikic looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Redman!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Let's hope that Vikic has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

You can see the frustration on Redman's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Vikic looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Vikic is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Vikic's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Vikic won't allow Redman to sweep him here.

It looks like Vikic might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Pera Vikic comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Vikic has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
