Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sheldon Robinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Janis Petke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sheldon Robinson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Janis Petke!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Sosuke Kotani and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Petke gets a takedown into half guard.
Robinson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Robinson has control of Petke's left arm, preventing Petke from doing any damage.
Robinson has a closed guard, preventing Petke from standing up.
Petke is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Petke must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Petke wants to control from the top but Robinson keeps moving.
Robinson wants to sweep here but Petke controlling him for the moment.

Robinson lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Robinson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Petke is looking to stand up but Robinson isn't so interested in that idea.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Petke can do anything to dispel that myth.

Petke is trying to control the position but Robinson postures up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Robinson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Petke shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Robinson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Petke makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Robinson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Robinson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Petke's guard.

Robinson is looking to work some ground and pound but Petke has wrist control.
Petke is striking from the bottom but Robinson uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.

Robinson wants to work for an arm triangle but Petke is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Robinson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Robinson is trying to control the action in half guard but Petke is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Petke wants to improve his position but Robinson is controlling well.
Robinson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sheldon Robinson will probably get the nod.
That's time! Robinson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Robinson has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Petke is on him like a limpet, forcing Robinson back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Petke manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Robinson on his heels. He'll look to pass Robinson's guard now, I'm sure.
Robinson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Robinson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Robinson is keen to just control but Petke is a slippery customer.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Petke wants to control but Robinson is keeping busy.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Robinson's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Petke is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Petke tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Robinson paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Petke feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Robinson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Petke stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Robinson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Petke is fighting to break Robinson's control of his arms but Robinson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Robinson stands up over Petke, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

That was a close second round but I would say that Sheldon Robinson will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



A momentary lapse in concentration from Robinson enables Petke to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Robinson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Robinson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Petke drops back, looking for a kneebar! Robinson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Robinson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Robinson!

Petke takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Check out the look on Robinson's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Robinson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Petke has escaped the position, nice work there.
Robinson wants to control but Petke is keeping him busy.
Petke tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Robinson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Petke is trying to escape the position but Robinson is controlling the position.
Petke tries to buck Robinson off but Robinson is having none of it.

Robinson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Petke has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Robinson but great work by Petke.

Robinson is looking to reverse the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Robinson is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Petke has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Robinson is looking to regain half guard here but Petke keeps moving and retains side control.
Robinson is trying to control Petke's posture but Petke avoids it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Petke fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Robinson to the ground. Petke is now in Robinson's guard.

Robinson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Janis Petke has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sheldon Robinson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Robinson pulls Petke in close to his closed guard and prevents Petke from doing any damage or advancing position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Janis Petke comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Robinson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
