The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Thompson finds it's way through Blanchard's defenses.
Thompson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Blanchard looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Nice uppercut lands for Thompson. That snapped Blanchard's head back.

Thompson steps into range and cracks Blanchard with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Blanchard flops backwards and Thompson dives into his guard looking to finish!

Thompson wants to stand but Blanchard has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Blanchard is still in real trouble! Can Thompson finish him?
Thompson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Thompson stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Thompson moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Blanchard goes down! Can Thompson finish him!?
Thompson trying to stand up but can't free himself from Blanchard's guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
