Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Sandra Marshall and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hooty throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mapu's waist but Mapu gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hooty off to one side.
Hooty looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Mapu!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mapu prevents Hooty from moving into mount.
Hooty wants to control but Mapu is keeping him busy.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Hooty changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mapu tries to avoid it but Hooty manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mapu to the ground. Mapu escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Mapu has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Hooty after a bit of a struggle.
Hooty is trying to trip Mapu. He has hold of a leg but Mapu is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Hooty persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
