PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wally Portman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zakk Wylde (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wylde has chosen A Song For You by Zack Wylde as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Wally Portman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Zakk Wylde!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Portman throws a body kick that misses
and Wylde counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Wylde fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Portman.
Portman takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Wylde cracks the inside of Portman's front leg.
An inside leg kick lands from Wylde.
Wylde lets loose with a powerful body kick. Portman will feel that in the morning.
Portman is breathing heavily.
Portman has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Wylde finds it's way round the side to connect with Portman's head.
Wylde dips to his left and cracks Portman with an uppercut!
We've been told by Portman's head coaches at Pitbull MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Wylde waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Portman. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Portman to the canvas! Can he finish him!?

Portman is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wylde content to stall in guard here.
Oh Portman is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wylde's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Wylde slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wylde has hold of Portman's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Portman seems comfortable defending it but Wylde has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Portman is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Portman is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Wylde couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Zakk Wylde!
In his post fight interview, Zakk Wylde started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
