The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sappy closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Sappy decides to stand back up.
Sappy throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

It looks like LeRoy Basil has been cut.

Sappy decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Basil blocking the ground and pound attempt from Sappy.
Basil is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Basil moves into full guard.
Basil preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Sappy has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Basil wants to sweep but no luck.

Sappy throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Sappy has gone for a leg lock! Basil slips out almost immediately though and dives into Sappy's guard.

Sappy is looking to stand up but Basil isn't so interested in that idea.

Basil maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Sappy could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Basil has cracked it and Sappy is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Basil!
