Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gwladys Whiskas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felix De Sousa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whiskas keeps the fight on the outside.
Whiskas swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

De Sousa gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

De Sousa jumps guard and drags Whiskas to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
De Sousa is adopting a defensive guard.
Whiskas wants to control from the top but De Sousa keeps moving.
Whiskas looking to sit in guard and control but De Sousa gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

De Sousa prevents Whiskas from standing back up.
De Sousa seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

De Sousa seems to be looking for submissions.

Whiskas tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

De Sousa landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
De Sousa takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Let's hope that De Sousa has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
De Sousa has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Whiskas is desperately trying to improve his position but De Sousa has a good base and remains in mount.

De Sousa lands a heavy elbow.
Whiskas is in all sorts of trouble here.
De Sousa looking to control and managing it successfully.

De Sousa is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Whiskas can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
De Sousa is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Whiskas can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

De Sousa has hold of Whiskas's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Whiskas manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Whiskas tries to hold on but De Sousa pushes him away.

De Sousa lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
De Sousa breaks from Whiskas's wrist control and lands an elbow.
De Sousa has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

De Sousa swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
