The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sarpong comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
An inside leg kick lands from Sarpong.
Christmas has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Christmas throws a jab but it's blocked by Sarpong.
Sarpong bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Sarpong lands with a kick to the ribs.
Christmas fails with the takedown
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Sarpong has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Jeffrey Sarpong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sarpong stuffs the takedown attempt from Christmas. Christmas gets slowly back to his feet.
