PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Daryl Page (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcio Araujo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Page has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Araujo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Page as he avoids it easily.
Page displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Araujo.
Araujo looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Page tries for a takedown but Araujo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Araujo shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Page napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Page decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Araujo tries to roll over but Page keeps him under control.
Page wants to control but Araujo is keeping him busy.

Page got a little sloppy there for a moment and Araujo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Page has managed to get both his arms back between Araujo's legs - danger averted.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Araujo throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Page tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Araujo is in Page's guard.

Marcio Araujo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Page takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Page keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
