PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Worf Roshenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonas Carvalho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roshenko comes to the ring accompanied by QoNos Death Swell. Carvalho has chosen Megaman Theme Music as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carvalho gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Carvalho connects with a knee to the head.

It looks like Worf Roshenko has been cut.
Carvalho unloads a knee to the mid-section. Roshenko lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Carvalho utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Carvalho dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the ropes.
Carvalho looking to throw knees to the head but Roshenko is blocking nicely.
Roshenko tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Roshenko goes for a takedown attempt but Carvalho pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Roshenko misses with a head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Carvalho forces Roshenko back against the ropes and clinches.

Roshenko gets underhooks to prevent Carvalho's takedown attempt.
A nice right hand lands inside from Carvalho.

Carvalho lands a knee to the body.
Roshenko is looking for a takedown up against the ropes. Carvalho gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Carvalho breaks from the clinch.
Roshenko shoots in for a double leg but Carvalho sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Worf Roshenko. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Roshenko closes the distance and clinches.

Carvalho is trying to trip Roshenko. He has hold of a leg but Roshenko is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Carvalho persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Roshenko seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Carvalho is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Roshenko escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carvalho gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Roshenko wants to stand up but Carvalho is controlling him.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Roshenko had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Carvalho defends it easily.

Roshenko looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Carvalho is defending well. Roshenko quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Carvalho has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Roshenko celebrates on the ropes, with the crowd.
