Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Giovanni Mcknight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesse James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jesse James is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Giovanni Mcknight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jesse James!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Donald Grub and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mcknight enables James to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mcknight manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mcknight keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully.
James stands and throws Mcknight's legs to the side, diving into side control.
James advances to mount.
Mcknight tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Mcknight is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Mcknight really is a fat lump.
James working the ground and pound effectively.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
James punishing his opponent with strikes.
James controlling the position easily from mount.
It looks like James might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
James has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Mcknight is trying to reverse the position but instead James has taken his back - oops!
James is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
James is hanging on to Mcknight's back as he tries to escape.
Mcknight looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

James just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

You can see the frustration on Mcknight's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

James looking to break Mcknight's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Mcknight remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise James will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mcknight trying to get back to his feet but James is in full control for now.
James keeps control of the position as Mcknight tries to break free.

James is persistently looking for the submission but Mcknight is defending it well.
James is looking to control Mcknight but Mcknight is wriggling around and keeping busy.

James is cranking Mcknight's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Mcknight! He's tightened the choke and Mcknight is tapping out!
