PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Case Delarosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Delarosa comes to the cage accompanied by AWOLNATION - Sail. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Case Delarosa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, John Scott!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Colin Fray and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Scott has Delarosa up against the cage in a clinch.
Scott lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Delarosa or not.
Scott wants a takedown.
Scott tries a body shot but Delarosa blocks it.
Delarosa is trying to break the clinch but Scott is controlling him.
Scott can't find room to land a body shot as Delarosa controls the action.
Scott has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Delarosa is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
A frustrated look appears on Delarosa's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Scott lands a hook that snaps the head of Delarosa backwards.
Delarosa wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Scott throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Delarosa is looking to break free of the clinch but Scott has double underhooks.
Delarosa stops a takedown attempt from Scott.
Case Delarosa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Scott.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Scott stalls.

Scott manages to pull guard.
Scott seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Delarosa sitting in guard here, content to control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Delarosa trying to control but Scott is working from the bottom.
Scott wants to stand and escape but Delarosa is having none of it.
Scott has control of Delarosa's left arm, preventing Delarosa from doing any damage.
Delarosa might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Delarosa stops Scott from standing up.
Delarosa wants to control from the top but Scott keeps moving.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Delarosa controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
A swing and a miss from Scott.
Scott rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Delarosa counters with a left and a right that stings Scott.
Scott jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Scott throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Delarosa sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Scott jabbing away but nothing is landing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Good work by Delarosa as he checks the leg kick.
Scott paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
We've been informed that Scott has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Scott lands a big right hand that sends Delarosa crashing to the mat! Scott stays standing though and waves Delarosa back to his feet!


Delarosa is rocked!
Scott throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Delarosa stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Delarosa is breathing heavily.
Scott misses with a two punch combination.
Scott tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Scott ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Delarosa moves away.

Scott darts in and clinches Delarosa up against the cage.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Scott creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Scott lands a nice shot to the body.

Scott manages to break the clinch.
Delarosa avoids the body shot from Scott.

Scott sends Delarosa crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Scott is motioning to the referee to let Delarosa up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Oh Delarosa is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A looping hook to the body misses from Scott. Delarosa does a little dance to reset his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Scott dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Scott wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Delarosa seems to have got his legs back now.
John Scott seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Scott looks to land a left hand but Delarosa moved out of range nicely.
Scott throws an overhand right that drops Delarosa like a sack of potatoes! Scott dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Scott!
A relieved looking John Scott thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
In defeat, Case Delarosa stepped up to the mic, saying 'I would like to thank my fans first and for most and i will come back stronger and better'.
