Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Maria Aguilar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Djeko Furoni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Djeko Furoni looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Luis Engracia and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Furoni tries for a takedown but Aguilar circles away easily

and Aguilar counters by moving into the clinch.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Furoni on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Aguilar rushes Furoni and presses him up against the cage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Aguilar is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Furoni trying to pass the guard but Aguilar defending well.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Aguilar shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Aguilar was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Furoni is trying to control Aguilar's posture but Aguilar avoids it.

Aguilar wants to control but Furoni is keeping him busy.

Aguilar is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Furoni will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Aguilar's jab looks to have found its range, popping Furoni under the eye.
Aguilar fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Furoni on the side of the head.

Aguilar ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Aguilar no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Furoni stops Aguilar from standing up.

Aguilar escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Furoni gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Aguilar wants to get back to his feet but Furoni is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Aguilar drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Djeko Furoni has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Aguilar creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

And that's the end of the fight!
Maria Aguilar showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Aguilar has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
