PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Silny Janek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duane Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Reed Andrews and Eddie Farnsworth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Janek fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Perry lands with an uppercut that bounces Janek off the cage and back into range.

It looks like Silny Janek has been cut.
Jab from Perry.
Janek drops his hands momentarily and Perry takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Perry.
Janek takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Perry misses with a two punch combination.
Perry connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Janek momentarily.

Janek moves into the clinch successfully.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Perry tries to score a body lock takedown but Janek shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Janek escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Janek is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Perry lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Silny Janek's cut is getting worse.
Duane Perry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Janek shoots for a takedown but Perry saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Perry stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Perry lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Perry lands a nice looking body kick.
Perry works the jab nicely.

Janek shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Janek not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Perry is trying to stand.
Janek is trying to control. Perry wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Janek wants to pass the guard but Perry is defending well.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Perry flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Janek moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Duane Perry is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Perry closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Silny Janek's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Perry stuffs the takedown attempt from Janek. Janek gets slowly back to his feet.

Perry gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Janek to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Janek tries to stand but Perry is controlling from the bottom.
Perry wants to control the position but Janek says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Perry pushes Janek off looking to stand but Janek dives back in and keeps control.
Perry is looking for a sweep. Janek is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Perry is still trying to improve position.

Janek is trying to control the action in half guard but Perry is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Perry has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Janek is working away from the top position though.
Perry tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
