PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michal Tarnowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mitt Thrawn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tarnowski comes into the arena with Hemp Gru - Sami swoi blaring out of the sound system. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thrawn looks to score with a jab to the body but Tarnowski is just out of range.
Thrawn throws a sloppy body shot
and Tarnowski counters with a one-two to the body.
Thrawn ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tarnowski moves away.
Tarnowski digs a good body shot into Thrawn's ribs.

Thrawn misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Tarnowski counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Thrawn throws a hook but Tarnowski blocks it.
Thrawn looks to land a left hand but Tarnowski moved out of range nicely.

Tarnowski is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Thrawn's half guard.
Tarnowski will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Tarnowski is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Thrawn doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Tarnowski.
Thrawn wants to get back to full guard.

Tarnowski wants to work for an arm triangle but Thrawn is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Thrawn has a hand on Tarnowski's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Tarnowski takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Thrawn can do anything to dispel that myth.
Tarnowski avoids the attempt from Thrawn to control.
Tarnowski lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

It looks like Mitt Thrawn has been cut.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Tarnowski cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

That has opened up Mitt Thrawn's cut even more.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Thrawn tries to reverse the position but Tarnowski maintains control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tarnowski lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Thrawn hang on?
Thrawn is still in real trouble! Can Tarnowski finish him?

The cut above Mitt Thrawn's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Mitt Thrawn's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
