Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sebastian Mayo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Buck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sebastian Mayo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Buck!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Buck moves into range and clinches up with Mayo.
A short body shot lands from Buck as the two fighters clinch.
Mayo fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Buck manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Buck pulls guard successfully.
Buck managing to control the position.

Mayo avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Buck is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mayo wants to control from the top but Buck keeps moving.
Mayo is looking to work some ground and pound but Buck has wrist control.
Buck has his hands on Mayo's head, controlling the position.
Mayo trying to control but Buck is working from the bottom.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Mayo throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Buck works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Buck tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mayo paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Mayo fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Buck avoids it really well and circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Buck tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mayo swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Mayo instigates a clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Buck jumps guard but Mayo stands there with Buck around his waist. Buck gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Mayo manages to break the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mayo looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Mayo blocks a head kick by Buck.
Buck dives in and grabs Mayo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mayo pushes down on Buck's head and hops out.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mayo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Sebastian Mayo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Buck.
Mayo stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mayo wants it to stay on the feet.
No luck for Mayo with that takedown attempt.
Buck fails with an attempt to clinch.
Buck shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mayo pinned against the cage. Mayo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mayo looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Mayo counters by moving into the clinch.

Mayo gets a clinch.
Buck tries a body shot but Mayo blocks it.
Buck wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Mayo has him pressed against the cage.

Mayo breaks the clinch.
Buck shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mayo but Mayo pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Mayo shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Buck sprawls well. Buck wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mayo gets slowly back to his feet.
Buck shoots in for a takedown but Mayo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mayo lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Buck shoots in but Mayo avoids the takedown attempt easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sebastian Mayo dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Buck fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mayo is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Buck can do to turn this around?

Buck has taken the fight to the clinch.
Mayo slowing the pace effectively.
Buck jumps guard but Mayo stands there with Buck around his waist. Buck gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Mayo blocks an elbow strike from Buck.
Buck tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Mayo smiles and moves away.

A looping hook to the body misses from Mayo. Buck does a little dance to reset his feet.

Buck shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mayo napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Mayo can't do much from the bottom here.
Mayo manages to work his way to half guard, despite Buck's best efforts.
Mayo trying to control but Buck postures up.
Buck prevents Mayo from improving his position.

Mayo has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Buck is on him like a limpet, forcing Mayo back against the cage.

Mayo gets control of Buck's arms and successfully pulls guard. Mayo will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Buck won't allow Mayo to get back to his feet.
Buck not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Buck trying to control but Mayo is working from the bottom.
Buck wants to get up but he can't break Mayo's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Buck passes Mayo's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Buck slows the pace down in half guard.
Buck is thwarting Mayo's attempts to control the position.

Buck is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Mayo trying to get back to full guard but Buck takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Buck avoids the attempt from Mayo to control.

Mayo holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Buck tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Mayo reaches up to try and control the position but Buck seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Mayo rolls and tries to escape and now Buck has his back!
Mayo covering up well under a barage of strikes.
Mayo trying to control the hands but Buck won't let him.
Buck throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mayo manages to reverse the position and now he's in Buck's guard. Nice work there by Mayo.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mayo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Buck has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mayo has managed to get both his arms back between Buck's legs - danger averted.
Buck utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Mayo trying to control but Buck is working from the bottom.
Mayo throwing strikes from guard but Buck blocks nicely.
Mayo is fighting to break Buck's control of his arms but Buck is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Buck looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Chris Buck showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Mayo manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Buck successfully pulls guard.
Buck has his hands on Mayo's head, controlling the position.
Mayo postures up in Buck's guard and throws a big left but Buck blocks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mayo working some strikes from top position.
Buck has momentary wrist control but Mayo slips an elbow through the middle.

Mayo trying to stand up but can't free himself from Buck's guard.
Mayo with a flurry of punches that miss.

Buck throws his legs up looking for a submission but Mayo uses it to pass to side control.
Buck tries to improve position but can't.
Mayo wants to control but Buck is keeping him busy.
Buck dodges the ground and pound from Mayo.

Mayo decides to stand back up. Mayo steps back and let's Buck get back to his feet.
Buck shoots in for a double leg but Mayo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Buck throws a sloppy head kick and Mayo moves out of range easily.
Mayo defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Buck.
Sebastian Mayo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Buck takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Mayo drives through with a takedown into Buck's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Buck looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Mayo trying to control but Buck is working from the bottom.
Mayo keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Buck's head.
Buck keeping full guard, as Mayo tries to pass.
Mayo wants to control from the top but Buck keeps moving.
Mayo in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Mayo stands up from Buck's guard - Mayo perhaps looking for a knockout.
Buck is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Mayo.
Mayo closes the distance and clinches up with Buck, looking for a takedown. Mayo pushes Buck against the cage but Buck circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Buck fails to land the takedown.
Sebastian Mayo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Buck.
Buck takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Buck tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Buck tries to clinch but Mayo is having none of it.
Mayo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Buck swivels and escapes.
Buck tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Buck doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Mayo counters with a single leg into guard. Buck didn't expect that.
Mayo is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Mayo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Buck is keeping the position for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Buck is trying to keep Mayo in close.
